Where It Began
In 2018, our founders — competitive athletes and wellness advocates — grew frustrated with the gap between premium performance and the water available to fuel it. Sports drinks were loaded with sugar. Tap water carried contaminants. Even bottled water lacked transparency about its source and process.
They set out to build something different. After two years of research, sourcing expeditions across three continents, and collaboration with hydrologists and nutritionists, Virtu was born — water engineered to the same exacting standards as the athletes who drink it.
